4-Isothiocyanato-4-phentyl-butan-2-one:
2g Benzylidene acetone (MR= 146.19) were treated with 33 ml of a HSCN solution in CHCL3 containing 48,6 mg HSCN ( MR=59.086) per ml prepared following a reported procedure. After a reaction time of 24 hours room Temp., the reaction mixture contained 50% product ( determined by 1H NMR integration). The solvent was evaporated in vacuo at room temperature and the remaining solid purified by means of CC using CH2Cl2: MeOH=1:1 as mobile phase. Yield: 552mg
